Switching plans

Upgrade prorate, downgrade behavior, what happens to credits when you switch tiers, and how annual plans handle changes.

Plan changes are two clicks from Account settings. The product is built so you never lose work or pay twice for the same coverage.

Upgrading

Upgrades take effect immediately. Brandflux prorates the unused portion of your current plan against the new plan’s price, charges the difference for the remainder of the current billing cycle, and renews on the original cycle date at the new rate.

Example: you are on Small Team ($79) and upgrade to Professional ($149) on day 10 of a 30-day cycle. Brandflux refunds 20 days of Small Team ($52.67), charges 20 days of Professional ($99.33), and your next renewal is the original day-30 cycle at $149.

The new tier’s credit pool is available immediately. Already-used credits from the old tier count against the new tier’s pool, prorated.

Downgrading

Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle so you keep the credits you already paid for. The new tier’s caps (seats, brands, credits) apply at the cycle boundary.

What happens to over-cap items at downgrade:

  • Brands above cap. Archived but recoverable. Re-activate by upgrading or by archiving a different brand.
  • Seats above cap. The owner picks which seats to deactivate before the cycle boundary. Inactive seats can sign in but cannot generate.
  • API tokens. Studio-only. On a downgrade off Studio, tokens are revoked at the cycle boundary; rotate to dashboard usage before the cycle ends.

Annual plans

Annual pays up front and saves two months. Cancellations on annual refund the unused portion at the monthly rate (so you do not lose the discount earned on months already used). Mid-annual upgrades prorate the upgrade delta annually.

Mid-annual downgrades take effect at the annual renewal, not the next month. This is the one place where annual-vs-monthly behavior differs.

Cancellation

Cancel from Account settings. The workspace stays read-only for 30 days, then archives but is recoverable for one year. No reactivation fee; you pick the workspace back up at the tier you cancelled on, with all DNAs and campaigns intact.
